This dashcam video really shows how quickly an accident happens. Both drivers are fine, one probably due to the fact that he drove a Volvo.

Say what you want about over intrusive safety systems but an active lane keep assist would have prevented this...in addition to an attentive driver of course. But all it takes is a few seconds sometimes.

Yep, last generation XC70.

It would probably have helped, although Norwegian car magazines have found that the systems struggle with constantly winding roads like this one. In the future though..

The police haven’t found any cause, other than that the driver was probably not paying enough attention to the road. The driver survived with only minor injuries, and lost his license for three months.
